Printed Circuit Boards

Our PCBs can be used in a wide variety of applications, such as computer, telecommunication, consumer electronics, automotive, industrial control, aerospace, medical, military and other electronic assembly industries. We offer a wide variety of multi-layer rigid, single and double sided rigid, flexible and rigid-flexible printed circuit boards in a variety of finishes and colours. Should it be required, we can recommend the correct compliance standards and test to them accordingly.

Multilayer Rigid   Flexible   Multilayer Rigid

Our facilities not only allow us to produce a variety of PCBs. it also allows us to populate them using either the leaded or lead-free soldering lines. We are able to place component packages including fine pitch, BGAs, chip scale BGAs, CSPs, flip chips and sizes down to 0201. We are also able to place complex surface mount component packages, such as QFPs as large as 50mm. We can supply just the bare boards pre-cut or still in panels, alternatively we can populate the boards for you, the choice is yours.

PCB Types

Double / Single Sided PCBs

Single sided PCB is perhaps the simplest and cheapest PCB available, it consists of a single layer of copper formed into a circuit and bonded to a rigid base board material (Typically FR4). A coloured solder resist and silk screen can also be added as necessary. A double layer PCB consists of, as it's name suggests, two layers of copper formed into circuits and bonded to either side of a rigid base board material. A double sided PCB is useful for more complex circuits and links between the two layers can be made with through-hole plated via-holes. Both PCBs can be used with SMD and through-hole mount components. Please complete our printed circuit board enquiry form for more information.

Multi-Layer PCBs

A multi-layer PCB is generally used for very complex, high density circuits such as computer motherboards. Layers (we can currently manufacture upto ten) of copper are sandwiched between board layers and linked to one other with via-holes. We have a modern multilayer manufacturing facility, which provides us with the ability to produce a wide range of multi-layer PCBs with embedded resistors, capcitors, connector assemblies, blind, buried and plugged vias available. We also have the ability to produce multi-layer PCBs with metal cores and metal backing. Please complete our printed circuit board enquiry form for more information.

Flex Circuit Boards & Rigid-Flex Circuit Boards

Flexible PCBs are similar to the rigid PCB, except that the copper circuit is bonded to a flexible dielectric film. Using a dielectric film in the bonding process enables circuits to be used in a greater variety of applications and benefits include a reduction in weight, space and assembly costs. Like their rigid counterparts, flexible circuits can be made of single, double or multi-layer copper layers, however the more layers incorporated into the design, the stiffer the flex circuit becomes. Flex-Rigid circuits are a mixture of rigid PCB and flexible PCB technology in one package, the end product is normally several rigid PCBs joined together by a flexible part. Metal Backed & Metal Core

Metal backed and metal core PCBs are used in several applications, typicaly they are either when large amounts of heat generated by components has to be removed quickly and efficiently or when PCBs are used in a RF/microwave environment for shielding purposes. We are able to manufacture PCBs that are either metal backed or metal cored depending on the application. Please complete our printed circuit board enquiry form for more information.

Specialist Controlled Impedance and RF PCBs

Controlled impedance PCB are used in a variety of applications to help ensure high fidelity of signal integrity.Due to the complex nature of ensuring the correct impedance, we would like to work with you from the design stage to ensure your design is correct first time. RF and Microwave PCBs require specialist manufacturing and testing to ensure consistant results. We have the manufacturing capability to produce all types of PCB from single to multi-layer, that meet with the demanding role that RF and microwave applications place upon the components. PCB Design and Population Service

At GJG Electronics, we have a PCB assembly and design service that compliments our manufacturing facilities, this allows us to deliver a fully populated PCB from your initial conceptual idea, all to the highest standards. Our facilities allow us to design and place (manually and automatically) many different components, from standard through hole to surface mount packages including fine pitch, BGAs, chip scale BGAs, CSPs, flip chips and sizes down to 0201. PCBs can be made in either our lead-free (RoHS Complaint) or leaded (Non-RoHS compliant) lines depending on the application. Every board is manufactured to an ISO9001 quality management system, and we have the ability to check plated hole integrity with the latest micro-sectioning and inspection equipment. The facilities also allow us to provide an extensive testing solution for both BBT and fully populated boards. Please complete our printed circuit board enquiry form for more information.

PCB Finishes

Coloured Solder Resist and Silk Screen / Legend

We are able to manufacture PCBs in a variety of colours with complimentary silk screen colours. Our PCB colour range includes Green, Blue, Red, Black, Yellow, Clear and white. Silk screen available in white, Black and Yellow, other colours are available to special order.

HASL

Hot Air Solder Level is when the PCBs are 'dipped' into molten solder and the removal is blown off to produce a relatively flat finish suitable for easy soldering.

Immersion Silver

The PCBs are dipped in a silver solution and by a process called selective displacement the copper atoms are exchanged for silver ones on the exposed copper surfaces, this produces a perfectly flat finish for soldering components, especially SMD.

ENIG

An initial layer of Nickel is deposited onto the exposed copper surfaces for hardness, wear resistance, solderability and uniformity of deposition. A thin layer of Gold is applied afterwards to prevent the highly reactive Nickel surface from oxidising and loosing integrity.

Electrolytic Nickel Electrolytic Gold

ENEG uses an electric current to plate the Nickel and Gold onto the printed circuir boards. Generally a typical application would be that edge connectors are plated, but in certain applications it is advantageous for the whole of the board may be covered.

Electrolytic Nickel Electrolytic Pure Soft Gold

ENEPSG is similar to ENEG except that 99.99% pure Gold is used to coat the boards after the application of the Nickel. The Electrolytic Nickel Electrolytic Pure Soft Gold is very expensive and is normally reserved for wirebonding applications.

OSP

Organic Solderability Preservatives is an anti-oxident film that is applied to the exposed copper surfaces to generate a reaction that forms a organo-metalic layer. The organo-metalic layer prevents degredation of the copper surface and is virtually invisible.

Component Kitting

Component kitting can be time consuming and expensive, using our kitting service reduces costs and complexity. We provide a single cost effective point with which orders can be placed, you simply provide the kitting list and we will do the rest. With over 30,000 component lines, we are confident that the majority of orders can be fulfilled in a very short time scale! You place one order and receive one invoice. Please complete our printed circuit board enquiry form for more information.

We can design the boards from a circuit schematic for you or if you have the gerber data you can simply upload it from our printed circuit board enquiry form or alternatively email us. We have no minimum order quantities!
